I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
